Kathleen Winter was born in England in 1960 and emigrated to Newfoundland with her family in 1968. Her story collection,
boYs
(Biblioasis 2007), won the Metcalf Rooke Award and the Winterset Award. Her fiction has appeared in leading Canadian and UK literary journals, and has been selected for
Best Canadian Stories
(Oberon, 2008). Winter's first novel,
Annabel
was published in 2010 by House of Anansi in Canada.
