Wangersky, Russell

Russell Wangersky is a writer, editor and columnist from St. John's, Newfoundland. His debut short story collection, The Hour of Bad Decisions, was long-listed for the ScotiaBank/Giller Prize in 2006, and was short-listed for the Commonwealth First Book award, along with several other awards. His latest book, Burning Down the House: Fighting Fires and Losing Myself, a memoir of his eight years as a volunteer firefighter, was released by Thomas Allen Publishing in March, 2008. It was short listed for the 2008 Writers' Trust Non-fiction Prize and won the British Columbia National Award for Canadian Non-Fiction.
